United States Aikido Federation
Those people wishing to test at Capital must first ask their sensei for permission. After having received permission, you may obtain test forms from your dojo or at this web site. These forms must be filled out and turned in (together with the appropriate fees) prior to the date of the test. PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING BOTH YOUR COMPLETED PAPERWORK AND YOUR PAYMENT WITH YOU ON THE DAY OF YOUR TEST.
Fee schedule:
| Kyu ranks: | $35 |
| Shodan: | $210 |
| Nidan: | $205 |
| Sandan: | $300 |
In addition to these testing fees, if you are testing for 5th kyu, you must also join the United States Aikido Federation if you have not already done so ($30/year) and purchase a Yukyusha Book ($5, one-time charge.) Please note that there is no membership application to fill out -- your membership will take effect when your rank is issued by the USAF.
DOWNLOADABLE TEST FORMS
Please note that different sets of forms are required for various kyu and dan promotions. The USAF and the Aikikai also now require that all forms be filled out using a computer or typewriter, rather than being handwritten. The forms below should be opened and filled out using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Please print your completed forms and bring them with you on the day of your test. Do not E-mail them to us.
Kyu ranks: All kyu ranks will use the same USAF Application for Promotion form. Please click to download.
Shodan: You will need to fill out and bring four forms, in addition to your payment check. Please click to download a ZIP archive of these four forms or view sample forms.
Nidan and Above: You will need to fill out and bring two forms, in addition to your payment check. Please click to download a ZIP archive of these two forms or view sample forms.
Please contact us with any questions.
PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING BOTH YOUR COMPLETED PAPERWORK AND YOUR PAYMENT WITH YOU ON THE DAY OF YOUR TEST.
