Yutaka Ichiki, Hombu Dojo
Ichiki Sensei has practiced aikido for more than 45 years and was an instructor at Capital Aikikai from 1978-1981. He was the guest instructor for Capital's 15th anniversary seminar in 1988 and 30th anniversary seminar in 2003. Ichiki Sensei has served on the board of directors at Hombu Dojo and currently lives in Tokyo. He heads Television Tokyo Channel 12, Ltd.
Michael Friedl, Aikido of Ashland
Friedl Sensei began his Aikido training in 1972 under Clyde Takeguchi Sensei in Madison, Wisconsin. He was an uchi deshi to Takeguchi Sensei from 1975-1977 in Charleston, South Carolina, and to Morihito Saito Sensei in Iwama, Japan, from 1981-1983. There he studied weapons intensely, and the Iwama style remains a strong influence in his weapons style to this day. Friedl Sensei is a longtime student of Frank Doran Sensei and operates Aikido of Ashland, in Ashland, OR.
Fran Turner, Aikido Shugyo Dojo
Since Turner sensei started her study of Aikido in Copenhagen in 1974, she has trained in Washington, D.C., and Toronto. She has managed Aikido Shugyo Dojo since 1984. She has also taught Aikido and self-defence for women through the Toronto Board of Education and the Recreation and Athletics Centre at Ryerson Polytechnical University.

Always interested in body movement, Fran has studied modern dance, yoga, and Alexander technique. At the end of her very first Aikido class, she knew she was hooked for life.

William Plank, Capital Aikikai
Bill Plank is the chief instructor of Capital Aikikai. He has been training with Takeguchi Sensei since 1981. Plank Sensei teaches several beginning and advanced classes during the week and is also chief instructor of the Jackson Hole Aikikai, in Jackson, Wyo.
